The weekend of March 12/13, we will be inviting the congregation to SING together for the first time since March 2020. Given the atrocities happening in Ukraine, the need to sing together, to feel the healing and unity that comes from making music together, is urgently needed.
Our cantors will only be inviting the congregation to sing just for the responses to the Kyrie, Responsorial Psalm, and Gospel Acclamation. Though these are short songs, they are very meaningful moments of participation and affirmation during the Mass.
We hope that all will feel comfortable with this long-awaited change to our celebration; please do spread the word to friends and family, especially if any have felt comfortable and safe attending Mass in-person throughout the pandemic because of the cautious protocol we’ve followed! We look forward to being able to add more singing…but please know we are keeping a weather eye on our COVID cases and will reverse this change if we feel that these moments of singing together is becoming too risky for all of our family present at Mass.
