What Resources are available to help parents teach the lessons at home?
At May 20, 2015 audience, Pope Fancis stressed that educating and raising children in the human values that form the “backbone” of a healthy society is a responsibility that each family has. Parents YOU are the PRIMARY CATECHIST (teacher) of their children. The job of the Staff at St. Catherine's is to provide you with resources to be able to accomplish this.

YouTube Videos: Karen Luke & Vicky Wejko record a teaching lesson each week of the formation year. Seeds (PreK), Promise (K-1), Good News (2-3) Venture (4-7). Kids can watch them with you or by themselves or you can watch them together to suplement your at home learning!
Teaching Guides: Parent Teaching Pages are easy-to-use guides that walk you through teaching each lesson with step-by-step instructions, background information, and discussion starters. They are simplified versions of the Teaching Guides a catechist or teacher would use.
Weekly Lesson On-Line Assessments:are short-answer written quizzes in which students can show what they have learned from the week’s lesson. These assessments are used to help the Formation Staff know the kids are completing thier lessons and acts as the attendance for that lesson. This is ONLY when you complete a lesson AT HOME. If you do not want to complete the On-Line Assessment you can also complete the WEEKLY REVIEW HANDOUT that is included in the Pflaum Weeklies packet.
Weekly Gospels: provides a short description of the Sunday Gospel plus suggested activities and discussion starters for each age level. These easy-to-do ideas will bring families together to share what each member has learned about the Gospel they heard on Sunday and studied in the weekly lessons.
