In honor of their long time dedication as Matthew’s Closet Volunteers, we nominate Debbie Birdsall, Liz Burgart, The Kidd Family and Mike Moszkowicz as Star Lights. The Matthew’s Closet Collection Shed has been in St. Catherine’s parking lot for twelve years. From the beginning, Debbie, Liz, the Kidds and Mike have transported bags of donated items from the Shed to Matthew’s Closet for half a month each year. In spite of Covid-19, they each once again loaded their vehicles with many bags and drove into the city to the Closet. They each made numerous trips and are shining stars who are making a difference.
With Gratitude,
Jim & Sallie Dakins
Today we woke up to a lot of snow from the previous day’s storm! Winter hasn’t been too bad to date, but today our parking lots were filled with much accumulation of that white stuff! Scott Tubbs showed up at 5:30 a.m. and began clearing our property. God bless this generous steward who came forth as a much appreciated soul. Scott joined Bob Goldbach in clearing our property to make it safe and welcoming for the arrival of our morning Mass group and Parish Staff.
Thank you Scott! You were certainly a welcomed Star Light on this February morning!
God Bless you,
Father Rob
We nominate long time Matthew’s Closet volunteers, the Sirianni Family and Judy & Dick Del Vecchio as Star Lights. For many years they have emptied the numerous bags in the St. Catherine’s Collection Shed and transported them into the city to the Closet. In spite of Covid-19, they again stepped up. In the first half of January, Mary, Joe, Max and Bella made numerous trips. Max and Bella were home due to Covid restrictions. The second half of the month Judy and Dick transported very heavy bags in very cold conditions.
The Sirianni’s and Del Vecchio’s are bright St. Catherine Stars who are helping our city neighbors.
Gratefully,
Jim & Sallie Dakins
