I would like to nominate Phil Dattilo for a Star Light. Phil has been a breath of fresh air throughout the entire pandemic situation for St. Catherine’s. In the really dark days when he checked names off a list to later when things opened up a bit, he greeted and still greets everyone with a cheery greeting and smile. Phil really deserves a toke of our appreciation.

One of the great prayers of our faith tradition is the Rosary. This Advent, many of us are conscious of the Blessed Mother’s affirmation to the angel Gabriel. Mary responded to his profound news with a fiat, “Let it be done unto me according to His word.” The mother of our Lord faced many mysteries in her life journey. We acknowledge them when we pray the Rosary.
For some time now, Laura and Clyde have been leading the monthly rosary here at Saint Catherine of Siena. I would like to nominate them for a Star Light recognition as the two of them have been so dedicated and faithful in leading this prayer. They truly have been dedicated servants like Mary, saying “yes” to God’s will!
Blessings to them,
Father Rob
This is the season of giving, and it’s hard to imagine the amount of time and effort that Phyllis and Sally have given to so many neighbors of St. Catherine’s who are in need this holiday season. Phyllis and Sally collected names and wish lists for 25+ families in our community. After performing this amazing task, they organized the donors, collected the items, and sorted them by family. In addition to this overwhelming task, they collected extra articles of clothing, bedding, household goods and food from the community. They set up the large room in the Community Center, organized tables by size, article and gender. Every station was labeled for ease of identifying. They set up scheduled times for families to come and pick up their gifts and other items that would be useful.
I believe the above description does not fairly describe the time and effort expended by Sally and Phyllis. At this time of love and caring, I believe these two members of our faith community epitomize the meaning of love, sharing and caring for those who are most in need.
Heartfelt appreciation and admiration to Phyllis and Sally.
With Gratitude,
