The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process for receiving adults into the Church. Parishioners are invited to participate as members of the Core Group, which helps in planning and guiding this process.
Contact Ruth Maier, SSJ at 624-4990.
Recently received adults:
Jennifer Dixon
Is 28 years old and live in Farmington, New York. She has been married since 2005 to Michael Dixon, and they have a one year old son named Owen, and a Pug named Capo. Barbara Dixon, her mother-in-law, is her sponsor.
Jennifer graduated from St. John Fisher in 2005 with a Bachelors degree in accounting, and is the accounting manager for a wholesale distributor of pizza in Rochester, NY.
She says her motivation to become Catholic was the yearning to learn more about Christianity and Catholicism.
Ian Brown
Ian is from Seneca Falls, New York. The son of Sylvia Brown and the late Douglas Howard Brown. He is engaged to Saint Catherine’s parishioner Teale Inman with a June 13th, 2009 wedding date.
Ian dedicates his RCIA experience to his grandmother, the late Sylvia Moio of Seneca Falls, New York.
He is currently a freelance IT Consultant having worked recently as a Database Programmer/Analyst with Focused Medical Analytics in Rochester.
Ian is a big fan of the NFL and follows the San Francisco 49ers closely.
Other hobbies include camping, hiking and traveling with his fiancé Teale.
Alisa Lanzalaco
Alisa is from Fort Wayne, Indiana and her husband Mark is a native of Rochester. They have two children, Sophia, age 4 and Perry, age 2 and our dog, Daphne. My sponsor is Sherry Clement.
Alisa and Mark moved to the Mendon area from Rochester five years ago and soon became members of Saint Catherine’s Parish. Her husband is Roman Catholic and she mentions that she became interested in learning more about the Christian faith.
She states that she has and has enjoyed her experience with the RCIA, and feels she is truly blessed to have the opportunity to get to know the wonderful and loving people she has met. She believes that God has brought her here. I have learned so much and look forward to many more years of being a part of the Roman Catholic Community and embracing Jesus Christ our Lord.
